Lake Country Pads
Smart Pads™ Professional Foam Pads are a combination of premium materials and intelligent design. The foam is imported from Germany, where surface enhancement technology is flourishing. It’s smart because it compensates for some of the common pitfalls of machine polishing, i.e. pad separation, burning, and gauging. These pads stay firmly bonded to the
In the fall of 2006, Lake Country manufacturing introduced CCS Technology. CCS stands for Closed Cell Structures. These are pockets of closed foam, where products are less apt to soak into the foam. The CCS pockets act like small reservoirs for excess polish or wax. When more product is needed on the pad’s work surface, it is drawn up a center column of open-cell foam within each pocket and distributed back onto the work surface. CCS Technology prevents polishing foam pads from drying out and reduces product waste. We incorporated the Lake Country Mfg. CCS Technology into Smart Pads™ to create the best combination of pad design and foam composition available.

In 1977, Jim Schneider purchased the former Milwaukee Tanning company from the Knoernschild family and changed the name to Lake Country Manufacturing. Milwaukee Tanning was established in 1883 by the Knoernschild family and manufactured 4 main lines of goods: sheepskin apparel, powder puffs, leather dice cups and sheepskin buffing pads. During the first decade of ownership, Jim slowly sold off the other portions of the company to focus solely on the buffing industry. The business started in a 10,000 square foot building in Merton, Wisconsin. Due to continued growth we have moved twice since then. In 2014 we moved into our state of the art 82,000 square foot building located in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
In the last 40 years, Lake Country Manufacturing has grown to offer a full line of professional buffing and polishing products for the automotive, marine, aviation and composite industries. Their products are now offered in over 50 countries worldwide.
